Walking to church for a meeting, I was struck by the beauty of the morning and the stillness of the Fox River as it moved under the Lawe Street Bridge. Even the geese, usually foraging for food on the banks, were drawn to the water … perhaps savoring the sweetness of the day before the bitter winds of the winter arrive.
