After spending a couple of days with Reed’s family following the birth of Oliver, we brought Reed to Appleton for a few days to give Ben and Sage some time with just Oliver. On the trip from Madison, we stopped at Schreiner’s in Fond du Lac for supper. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so we had time to tell our story to the servers. They determined that a cake was in order, and brought it to Reed after the meal, complete with a candle and a song. Reed was too quick for the camera, so the photo shows the candle already blown out, not in process. It was a wonderful gesture, and quite good cake (hints of mazipan)!
